The Specialist, HR Compliance role is responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll processes for India, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery. The position involves managing payroll activities, employee benefits administration, compliance monitoring, and ensuring alignment with local labor laws and employment regulations.
The role requires maintaining updated knowledge of Indian labor laws and applicable state and federal employment regulations. The candidate will review company policies, recommend compliance improvements, maintain employee records according to regulations and data privacy standards, and support internal and external audits conducted by clients and labor authorities.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with payroll vendors and finance teams to finalize payroll timelines, consolidating payroll inputs from multiple sources including emails, payroll portals, Workday, and payroll partners, validating payroll data, handling employee and stakeholder queries, managing payroll control reports, investigating payroll issues, maintaining audit documentation, and driving process improvements to improve service efficiency and quality.
The candidate will also support payroll-related finance audits, handle employee grievances related to social security matters such as PF, and collaborate with Rewards and Procurement teams to ensure compliance with wage and employment regulations for direct and third-party employees.
Required qualifications include a University or College degree, preferably in Business Administration, along with 1-3 years of experience in India Payroll and Compliance or related HR operations roles. Candidates should have experience in payroll processing, time management, labor laws, employee compliance, Microsoft Office especially Excel, Workday knowledge, payroll accounting basics, confidential data handling, and managing priorities and deadlines.
Additional experience in APAC payroll, HR/Payroll education background, Shared Service Center environment, ServiceNow ticketing systems, employee customer service, and audit support will be an advantage.
