Monitor and maintain employee data, ensuring all employee records are up to date before payroll processing.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll payments to workers.

Manage changes in employment contracts including salary revisions and benefits updates after onboarding.

Ensure timely responses to queries received from workers, internal support teams, ICP/ICE, and clients.

Handle compliant offboarding processes for workers on both indefinite and fixed-term contracts, including voluntary and involuntary terminations.

Ensure background checks are completed as requested if not finalized prior to first payroll through implementation.

Must have 4+ years of APAC payroll experience and be able to manage end-to-end payroll cycles for Safeguard Global workers post onboarding.

Strong knowledge of payroll concepts and local payroll legislation for supported countries.

The role supports first-line employee pay queries and core payroll administration activities under close supervision, ensuring a consistent and high-quality service to employees while learning end-to-end payroll and HR Tier 1 processes in line with GSK standards and local regulations. This role includes a structured plan, mentoring, and on-the-job learning aligned with the apprentice’s field of study.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle Tier 1 payroll queries from employees such as missing pay, tax code differences, time entries, and allowances using standard guidance, resolving where possible and escalating when needed.

Verify data in Workday including new joiner details, payment elections, leave status, and allowances before raising or redirecting tickets, following cut-off timelines.

Run and save standard payroll reports from Workday after payroll cut-off such as address changes and worker changes and place them in agreed shared locations for payroll or vendor use.

Support pre- and post-payroll checks by updating checklists, comparing Workday data with vendor outputs, and highlighting discrepancies for resolution.

Maintain trackers and documentation including changes logs, payroll trackers, and archiving lists while coordinating archiving of payroll-related documents.

Support processing of specific payments and allowances by reviewing approvals, updating payroll tracking tables, and notifying payroll teams or vendors within cut-off timelines.

Work through ServiceNow and shared mailboxes to manage tickets and communications with employees, HR, Payroll, and external providers.

Adhere to data privacy, control, and documentation requirements including proper use of shared drives, archiving vendors, and ticketing systems.

Learning and Development:

Work to an agreed apprentice plan aligned with university and education requirements focusing on practical payroll and HR Tier 1 skills.

Receive day-to-day guidance from HR Tier 1 and Payroll specialists with support from assigned buddies or coordinators.

Gain hands-on experience with tools such as Workday, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and payroll vendor platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

Interest in building a career in HR, payroll, finance, or shared services.

Comfort working with numbers and Excel or spreadsheets, including updating trackers and reconciling data.

Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees and internal teams.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented work instructions accurately.
