Piramal Pharma is looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead human resources operations at its plant facility in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. The HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end Human Resources operations for the manufacturing site, including talent acquisition, employee relations, industrial relations, payroll inputs, statutory compliance, employee lifecycle management, performance management, and contract labour administration. The role partners closely with plant business leaders, shop-floor employees, unions, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure statutory compliance, operational excellence, and a positive employee experience while driving organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Areas of Ownership: Build and maintain positive employee relations across manufacturing shifts and plant departments. Address employee grievances promptly and ensure structured resolution while maintaining workplace discipline. Foster collaborative relationships with trade unions and employee representatives to ensure industrial harmony and business continuity. Support disciplinary proceedings, domestic inquiries, grievance redressal mechanisms, and employee engagement initiatives. Ensure 100 percent compliance with applicable central and state labour laws, Factories Act, and internal company policies. Directly manage statutory compliances and filings covering Provident Fund (PF), ESIC, Professional Tax (PT), Payment of Bonus Act, Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act (CLRA), and related labour legislations. Prepare and submit mandatory statutory returns, registers, and compliance reports within prescribed regulatory timelines. Facilitate internal and external compliance audits, factory inspections, and ensure rapid remediation and audit closure. Manage contract labour administration, deployment, and ongoing vendor compliance tracking. Audit contractor compliance records, wage registers, challans, and ensure strict adherence to statutory and company mandates for all service providers. Ensure accurate and timely compilation of monthly payroll inputs including attendance logs, leave records, shift allowances, incentives, and salary deductions. Facilitate smooth payroll processing and coordinate Full and Final (F&F) settlement activities for departing personnel. Administer key employee lifecycle milestones including probation confirmations, internal transfers, promotions, separations, and clearance processes. Conduct structured exit interviews, analyze attrition trends, and derive actionable talent retention insights. Drive the Performance Management System (PMS) across the plant, supporting goal setting, mid-year reviews, annual appraisal cycles, and performance improvement plans. Partner with functional heads to establish a high-performance, merit-driven shop-floor culture. Support local talent acquisition, blue-collar hiring, and execute any strategic initiatives assigned by the Head of Department or plant leadership.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications: 6 to 10 years of core Human Resources experience with deep, mandatory background in Plant HR, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations. Strong working knowledge of Indian labour legislation, Factories Act, CLRA, and statutory compliance frameworks. Demonstrated experience in union negotiations, dispute resolution, contract labour governance, and plant administration. Hands-on expertise in managing monthly payroll inputs, time office operations, and employee lifecycle administration. Proven track record in driving performance management processes and employee engagement in a manufacturing setting. Exceptional negotiation, conflict management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
