Upstox is looking for an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead and manage day-to-day HR operations, complete employee lifecycle processes, HR policies, statutory compliance, HR systems, and employee support. The role works closely with employees, managers, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and business leadership to maintain efficient, compliant, and employee-centric human resource operations. This position requires working 5 days in the office based out of Mumbai.
Key responsibilities include
Owning the end-to-end employee lifecycle from onboarding through career transitions, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities.
Managing digital and physical employee documentation, personnel files, and master data accuracy.
Establishing and refining HR standard operating procedures (SOPs), service levels, and helpdesk ticketing mechanisms for rapid employee issue resolution.
Developing, executing, and reviewing organizational HR policies to ensure uniform application across business units.
Coordinating with Payroll and Finance teams to validate inputs including attendance, leaves, incentives, deductions, reimbursements, and master data changes.
Administering employee benefit programs covering group health insurance, leave frameworks, gratuity, and welfare initiatives.
Ensuring end-to-end statutory compliance with Indian labor laws, including PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, TDS, Gratuity, and Shops and Establishments regulations.
Leading HRMS administration, ensuring access control governance, data hygiene, and automated workflows in partnership with HR technology vendors.
Enhancing employee experience touchpoints across the entire organizational journey from day-one induction to alumni transitions.
Preparing monthly and quarterly HR MIS dashboards tracking key metrics such as headcount, attrition, absenteeism, onboarding timelines, and SLA adherence.
Driving audit readiness and coordinating with internal and external auditors for HR operational and statutory inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements
6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, HR Generalist, or related leadership roles.
In-depth understanding of employee lifecycle management, HR workflow automation, and operational process design.
Comprehensive practical knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory filings, and compliance mandates.
Extensive experience managing HRMS platforms, master data integrity, and system enhancements.
Strong functional exposure to payroll coordination, benefits administration, HR MIS, and organizational analytics.
Proven experience collaborating with Legal, Finance, business heads, and third-party vendors.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and interpersonal communication capabilities.
Ability to work 5 days per week on-site from the Mumbai office.
